Panthers getting ready for a video shoot

The Skipping Panthers Jump Rope Team are getting ready for a video shoot.
The shoot is finally decided on the date and day which is Sunday 10 April 2011 and they want to do it some where there in cape town.

The French Crew wants to organise a trip to Khayelitsha to shoot a
Rope Skipping documentary this sunday on the 10th of April 2011. The SA Team atheletes from this best ever rope skipping Team will be on the shoot.

We currently now working on a best ever display for the video shoot, only 10 Top SA Team atheletes from the Gym are selected by I the coach.

More info will be posted after the video shoot have taken place.

2011 A year Full of More Possibilities for the Team

The Skipping Panthers Jump Rope Team, is pleased to have Girls on the Team. They joined this year and currently working on their Levl 2's.

Its definatelly going to be a good Year for the Team. As the Team Coach, will indeed produce more National Champions like the 2010 SA National Champion: Sibusiso Sodo. The Team is training very hard for all the upcoming events and hopefully our Team athletes will make it to the SA National.

Due to Internet costs, apology for the lack of update for the Team site.
However, we are always Training and working hard.

Hey there everyone!
Apology for the site not being updated after a long time.
Anyway, everythings still very good.

It was such a great experience to travel with Sandile (SA Programme manager) to Kenya.However, a big thank You goes to Mike Fry (USA). His doing a great work in Africa. Coaching Tanzania and Kenya, and very good I was there indeed.

The First East African Jump Rope Competition and workshop went out pretty very good and a great success indeed. The Jumpers in Kenya-Nairobi were so awesome. The whole event was a success, and very soon more countries here in Africa except South Africa Jump rope Team will be competing at the upcoming worlds later on in Future.

Thanks very much, Mike. You are definately are the best, God bless and great work!

Sbu & Snake (Nyameko) in Durban

Snake (Nyameko) along with Sbu (Coach & athlete) flew to Durban yesterday afternoon, for the Team South Africa squad training for the 2010 World Rope Skipping Championships.

Well, on the way we first visited the SA Gymnaestrada closing ceremony which was as well here in Durban. After the Gymnaestrada, we then took the above Photo.

However, we are now here at the National Team Camp squad going to London.

More News will be online in time, we will be back Cape Town on the 05th April 2010.

Heroes visits the Panthers today

It all started with a visit to the club through CWD Youth Interfacing at Andile Msizi Hall in Khayelitsha, place of 2006 World Champions, home of the SA National Champion in the biggest Township with great things being accomplished. Here some of the Skipping Panthers athlets is joined by Robin (see Red T-shirt) who is from Holland and working for the KLM Airlines & Wings of Support; see: www.wingsofsupport.org as well as Angela (see Black T-shirt).

The Skipping Panthers performed an awesome Jump Rope Demonstration today, and indeed Robin and his fellow special visitors really enjoyed it. The Team had a nice time too, had the chance to even watch some Ballroom dance which also displayed for our honourable guests. Robin and the other visitors are looking forward to helping the Team in every way, and the Team is very much glad of their presence.

They have already made a difference and so can you!

As part of growing Jump Rope at the disadvantaged areas as well as the Western Cape as whole, the Team will be having it's Winter training Camp with lots of Rope Skipping starters & masters. The aim is to train & bring about more skippers through out the Western region, to keep more people active with jump Rope throughout Cape Town!

Skipping Panthers Rock The Jewish Girl Birth-day Party!

Last Saturday,the Panthers jumped at a very big jewish girl birth-day party which took place at evening in Cape Town by the Jewish museum.
The Team along with the team manager,Taski and CWD-Masande official-Tabaxi were so amazed as well as the hournourable guests at the party.

After the awesome and rocking team display,the Panthers along with the Team Coach-Sbu ran a rope skipping workshop.That was a very big success,the team taught a lot of skills and there were ropes for everyone at the party-itz so amazing that lot of people like Double Dutch a lot!
Catholic Welfare and Development is so blessed to make and have a team like this one,best team ever in Western Cape and South Africa as whole!

The workshop that I had to run Today in Portland High,Mitchell's Plain-Cape Town ran to a success! The 'Young Stars' really enjoyed the session,too bad I never had a chance to take some photos to share with you.I was extremely bussy today & I hope Jump Rope will continue to grow in South Africa!
